Xmas List

Avery’s Slightly Adjusted Christmas List

Back from the Thanksgiving break, we are fully into the holiday season. It’s time to break out the wallets and pocketbooks for Christmas shopping. This list presents alternative items to the traditional requests of young children and adolescents. The alternative items may not seem as desirable but they instill good ideas. Following some of the issues discussed during the semester such as: image/presentation, role models, beauty perception, and violence. Choosing to go with a couple alternatives will not only enrich the Christmas experience, but it is very possibly a less costly options.

  1. Avery this was soo creative! U really incorporated a good portion of the readings from revelations into your list. The discriptions and reasonings, in relation to the readings, well more so their topics, were interesting as well. You made a very good point in pointing out that not only are most of these alternatives more productive in terms of what society says but they are also very cost effecient.

  2. I think I hate Christmas shopping. I drive myself insane trying to get just the right gifts for everyone, and spend a ton of money in the proccess.
Often times, after all that effort, I don't get what I want for Christmas.
But I guess that's not what it's about. My mom says "Give to give, not to recieve." But no one runs out of bed early in the morning to give presents,m they get up to open them.
